Liger’s Origin
Liger Mobility was founded in late 2016 with the goal to make two-wheelers safer and more comfortable for everyone. The name was inspired by the animal Liger - a rare breed that is a hybrid of a lion and a tiger. Liger is also the largest in the cat family. Drawing parallels from the animal Liger, the Autobalancing two-wheeler brings together the convenience of two-wheelers and comfort/safety offered by four-wheelers.
Awards and Mentorships
Liger Mobility has been backed by DST (Department of science and technology), SINE - IIT Bombay. Liger won an idea stage grant from SINE IIT Bombay DST in 2017. Based on the progress achieved, Liger was further awarded seed capital by SINE. Liger has also been mentored by the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) and Automotive Research Association India (ARAI) Liger Mobility was recognized by ISGF(Indian Smart Grid Forum) EV Innovation Awards as EV of the year and was also selected for Motion STPI ACES ( Autonomous Connected Electric Shared). Liger was also showcased to PMO in Startup India’s Raise 2020. Liger’s initial concept video garnered over 5M views and was globally circulated. Over its journey of 5 years, Liger Mobility has focussed on building strong IP, Patents and carrying out multiple rounds of Iterations on design, development and testing of its vehicles and technologies.The fully developed product will be unveiled at the AutoExpo in Jan 2023.

- Consumer markets – By increasing rider safety, comfort and by reducing the learning curve for new riders. Liger X is Liger Mobility’s offering for riders looking to own a new age auto balancing electric two wheeler
- Micro mobility & Ride share markets – Auto Balancing autonomous two wheelers can save operational cost of re-balancing and enhance consumer experience by moving vehicles to consumers autonomously

About Ashutosh
A graduate from IIT Kharagpur, Ashutosh has vigorous hands-on experience of building products and ventures across diverse technologies and segments. Before co-founding Liger Mobility, he built multiple ventures and worked with global organizations such as Airbus, Tata Consulting Engineers, Valmet, Atkins, Infosys across India and Europe.
About Vikas
After obtaining his BTech and Mtech degrees in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras, Vikas worked on core chip designing at Nvidia. He then went for an MBA in Finance from ISB. Post MBA, he added experiences across Strategy, Finance & Operations. Having acquired the necessary Technical and business tools to run a venture, Vikas co-founded Liger Mobility to continue his passion for technology.
